We Specialise In

Back Pain
Back pain can be caused by a number of different structures within the body, most commonly involving muscles, joints, intervertebral discs and nerves. Symptoms include pain, stiffness, muscle spasms and neurological symptoms (leg pain).
Before lower back pain can be treated effectively, a detailed physical exam is necessary to diagnose the specific structures involved. Once diagnosed treatment may include: massage, joint mobilisation, dry needling, electrotherapy, heat, postural correction & taping, hydrotherapy, pilates and an exercise program.

Neck Pain & Headaches
Neck pain can be felt locally, but can also cause headaches, shoulder and pain down the arm. The majority of neck pain in the general population is caused by overloading combined with poor postures, but can also be caused by traumatic accident such as car accidents.

Neck pain can have can be very frustrating and have significant impact on your quality of life, but it can be managed and resolved. Physiotherapy marries a combination of different techniques to alleviate neck pain and we also provide long term management strategies to keep the pain away.

Sports Injuries
Assessment of sporting injuries soon after they occur is crucial as it allows us to develop the best management plan for the athlete, specific to their sport. Physiotherapist can diagnose sporting injuries and if required refer for medical imaging, to General practitioners & Sports Physicians or provide the correct braces if an injury needs to be immobilised.

Once a good diagnosis has been made and the correct early management has been completed your Physiotherapist will develop a specific and graded rehabilitation program which will allow you to return back to high level sport.

Physiotherapists at Browns Plains Physiotherapy are highly experienced at managing your recovery from all musculoskeletal injuries with the goal to return you back to work and your pre- injury status. We also have excellent relationships with local Doctors, Occupational Therapist & Case Managers and will liaise with them to facilitate your rehabilitation.

Post Orthopaedic Surgery
Physiotherapists are necessary post Orthopaedic surgery to assist in individuals to return to full function. After surgery Physiotherapists assist with regain movement, strength, endurance and function. This allows patients to get the best result out of their surgery.

Sprain & Strains
Sprain and strains are very common injuries, particularly within the sporting population. A sprain is when a ligament is been damaged and strain is when a muscle and/ or ligament is damaged. There are three levels of severities with sprain and strains, those being grade I (mild), grade 2 (moderate) and grade 3 (complete rupture). Physiotherapists are expertly trained in diagnosis of these injuries and this is highly important as it allows us to specifically tailor a rehabilitation program and prevent re-injury.
Once a good diagnosis has been made and the correct early management has been completed your Physiotherapist will develop a specific and graded rehabilitation program which will allow you to return back to high level sport.
